Fit One Charge One - two batteries and a charger - ideal for electric fences

Which 12v Battery Do I Buy For My Electric Fence

We have lots of information to share with you about which batteries we would recommend for electric fences.

We always recommend the use of Leisure or Agri batteries with electric fencing. They are designed to be discharged and then re-charged whereas car batteries are quicker release and are recharged constantly by the vechile and therefore don't last long on an electric fence.  The manufacturer/brand may differ dependent on availalbity but the size and capacity will remain the same.

Our Leisure Batteries For Electric Fencing

We have Leisure or Agri Batteries in our online shop - these are 12v batteries and you can either have a 35amp or 36 amp or a 75 amp.  These batteries should have a life of 200 cycles so will last 5-7 years. If you do not let it fully discharge regularly.

The larger the amps the larger the physical size of the battery and the more capaicity it will have - ie it will last longer between charges.

LS36 Leisure Battery

12v 36 amp/hr Leisure Battery

This 36 amp/hr, re-chargeable 12v Sealed Agri Battery comes with full sealed and secured. For use with 12v Battery Energisers in our range.

Although a charge will last approx 4 - 5  weeks we do recommend that they are recharged every 2 weeks or so to keep the battery in best condition. This battery has a depth of discharge of 70% and we have found that if allowed to discharge fully it could damage the plates and it will be very hard to get it to take a full charge properly again.

L75 12v Leisure Battery

12v 75amp/hr Leisure Battery

This 75 amp/hr, re-chargeable 12v Sealed Agri Battery comes with full sealed and secured. For use with 12v Battery Energiser in our range.

The 75 Amp battery has larger terminals it is easier to use with solar assist panels.  You can fit the crocodile clips from the solar panel and the croc clips from the energiser on to the terminals much easier than if you used a smaller battery with smaller terminals.

Croc Clips Energiser and Solar Panel on 12v Battery

Again although a charge will last approx 5 - 6  weeks we do recommend that they are recharged every 3 weeks or so to keep the battery in best condition. This battery has a depth of discharge of 70% and we have found that if allowed to discharge fully it could damage the plates and it will be very hard to get it to take a full charge properly again.

12v 110 amp/hr Leisure Battery

Leisure or Agri Battery - 12v fully sealed 110 amp/hr 12v fully sealed agri fencing battery. Sealed wet cell deep cycle leisure battery.

We always recommend the use of leisure and deep cycle batteries with electric fencing as, unlike car batteries, they are designed to be repeatedly discharged and then re-charged. This battery should have a life of 200 cycles and can last up to 2-7 years if treated correctly.

Although a charge will give you up to 4 - 5 weeks of life (depending on the consumption/power of the energiser you are running) we do recommend that they are recharged every 2 to 3 weeks or so to keep the battery in best condition. This battery has a depth of discharge of 70% and we have found that if allowed to discharge fully it can damage the plates and it will be very hard to get it to take a full charge properly again.

As this is a larger and heavy battery we have had less uptake and so currently this item is out of stock.

Fit One Charge One

The Fit One Charge One

This system comprises two 12v 35amph/hr leisure batteries with a battery charger.  Fit One - Charge One is designed for worry-free fencing so you can use one battery and charge the other at the same time and even bettery... the battery charger is included too. Specifically designed for electric fencing systems.

Each battery is 35 amp/hr. Maintenance-free sealed leisure batteries. Magic eye charge indicator. Carrying handles. Weight 9 kg each.

The batteries used in this electric fence battery duo contain a large amount of energy for a small battery, making them ideal for electric fencing. Each battery could power an energiser, such as the Gemini 80, for about 2 -4 weeks.

This 12v battery duo is fitted with 'connect + forget' three stage charger. The charger quickly charges your battery as well as maintaining battery performance when the battery is charged. Whether the battery is fully discharged or not, you can simply 'connect and forget', leaving the charger connected for a day or a year, knowing that your battery is always in ideal condition but will not over charge.

Our Rechargeable Batteries

6v and 9v Batteries

We also have a range of 6v and 9v batteries which are non rechargeable.

These batteries are used with some of our smaller battery energisers or they maybe used as a battery back up.

The 6v and 9v batteries are found in our battery section in our shop

Our Battery Chargers

12v Leisure Battery Chargers

We have a range of chargers to suit your battery choice.  Always make sure you choose a charger that has a higher capacity than your batterie.  What we mean is if your battery is 75amp/hr get a charger that can charge batteries with a capacitiy of say 40-140amps.

Here are our battery chargers.

We do not recommend car batteries for the following reason:

Car batteries are fast release and only last a short amount of time... they are designed for the car to recharge them everytime they are used. Agri batteries are slow release hence they last longer and release their energery slower. So car batteries in the end are a false ecomonmy as you spend your whole life re charging.

Battery care:

Your battery has a life of 5 to 7 years so treat it well over the winter months and you will look after your animals for a long time,
Don’t forget to have the correct charger for you battery voltage and amp size.
