"The nifty 1.2m (4ft) high electric mesh fence has tread-in posts and is a tasteful shade of dark green that vanishes into the garden landscape. It comes in kit form (in a choice of 25m or 50m (80ft or 160ft) lengths)and is quite easy to install and move about.

We are using the 50m version which is powered by a battery, backed-up by a small solar panel. It would of course have been cheaper and simpler - had it been possible - to use a standard mains connection. the fencing system, from Electric Fencing Direct, is the brainchild of Bob Taylor, who himself keeps poultry and who helped devise a package to suit us. The company also provides electric fencing to keep other animals in and assorted predators out."
