Keeping hens safe from Mr Fox

Electric Fencing Direct have been totally amazing. I did not know the first thing about how to secure chickens with electric fencing and poultry netting when I started out several years ago. While there are many sources online, I often found the information confusing. Meriel took the time to explore what setup would work best in my back garden and I have not had any fox trouble since.

After a year or so, it seemed like there was a problem with the energiser, and she promptly dealt with it, sending out a replacement in record speed, even before I returned mine. This is what I call excellent customer service from a dependable, reputable company. In the end, it turned out there was nothing wrong with the energiser, but the tester just needed a new battery, and she didn’t make a big deal of it, not even charging me for the postage, when they clearly could have.

Now, several years on again, we wanted to change the set-up of where the chickens live, and needed a solution that combined poultry netting with securing a garden wall with electric wires. The location had multiple challenges, e.g. the wall being stepped on a slope. Again, Meriel took the the time to explore what would work best and we talked through all the options before she out together the best package for me. I am pleased to report that we now have a fantastic, semi-permanent set-up in our back garden that not only works well, but also looks good.
