Keeping Deer Out With Electric Fencing
Deer (large and small) can effectively ruin your garden. An easily erected and unobtrusive electric fence is the answer. This may be a permanent or temporary fence. Electric netting is very effective as a temporary fence otherwise lines of wire may be erected to create a more permanent solution.
Electric netting to keep deer out
Nets are green and merge into the background. They are 1.2 m. high and come with built-in tread-in posts making it easy to place around vulnerable plots. Additional nets can easily be added on. It is essential that the Energiser has sufficient power to cope with both the present and future number of nets. If it is not feasible to stop deer coming into the garden the netting can be used to protect specific beds/gardens. Netting enclosures may be linked to each other via insulated cable (which can be laid underground).
Electric wire fencing to keep deer out
A more permanent fence can be created by 5-6 lines of electrified wire. These must be supported via Insulators on either wooden posts or tread in posts. In both cases it is essential to have strong strainer posts at starts/ends and changes of direction as the wire must be tensioned via wire strainers.
