AREA GUIDE
The first step in designing your own electric fence system is to determine the overall distance.  The following conversion table will give you a rough estimate of distances across or around square and rectangular fields.

Posts should be placed every 4m 5m apart (the more exposed the area the closer the posts)

APPROXIMATE FENCING REQUIREMENTS PER ACRE
(Assumes a square field/paddock)
Area conversion table
The standard horse kit with 200m of tape/rope is sufficient to go across the area marked in red across fields up to 10 acres.

NOTE! RECTANGULAR FIELDS

Add 5% to the all round square field posts to give a reasonable approximation of the distance around a rectangular field.
